Who We Are

5$Movement came together as a collective during the Fall of 2023, hosting monthly improv jams/open rehearsals to bring the freedom of spontaneous movement to the community. We research improvised movement methods to grow together and individually, finding new ways to explore space and time.

5$M is passionate about sustainable and just art-making practices. We are dedicated to making work that imagines and creates equitable and empowered worlds. We are immersed in liberative practices of anti-racism, feminism, queer-expression, decolonization, sustainability, and accessibility. Through these lenses, we hold our process, work, and review to a standard that ensures our art doesn’t repeat tired and tasteless tropes of dominant culture narratives.
